Opportunity Finder

Opportunities you actually qualify for.

Finding a good opportunity should not mean opening dozens of websites and reading every requirement yourself. Opportunity Finder searches for matches, checks the requirements against your profile, and helps you keep track of what matters.

The problem

Finding opportunities takes more work than it should.

There are thousands of scholarships, programs, internships, competitions, and other opportunities for students. The hard part is finding the ones that actually fit you.

A student may spend a long time searching, open an opportunity, read all the requirements, and only then learn that they are the wrong age, in the wrong grade, live in the wrong state, or do not meet another requirement.

Opportunity Finder moves that work into one conversation. Tell it about yourself, ask what you are looking for, and it does the searching and checking for you.

What it does

From search to application in one place.

Opportunity Finder is built to do more than return a list of links. It helps you understand whether an opportunity fits you, then remembers what you decide to do with it.

Finds the right opportunities

Searches the web and a shared library for opportunities that match your interests, location, and profile.

Checks if you qualify

Reads the requirements and compares them with your grade, age, state, GPA, and other details before treating something as a good match.

Helps you keep track

Save opportunities, mark the ones you applied to, and come back later to see your progress in one place.

How it works

You ask. Opportunity Finder does the rest.

A simple message starts a full process behind the scenes. The system searches for opportunities, reads the requirements, checks your profile, ranks the results, and remembers what you save.

You message Poke tell it who you are and what you are looking for

Behind the search

Built to search less and remember more.

The system combines web search, AI, a database, and regular code so each part has a clear job.

Poke

Interface

Gives students a simple way to use Opportunity Finder through a conversation instead of another long form or another website to search.

Node and TypeScript

Server

Runs the main system, including profiles, search, eligibility checks, ranking, saving, and application tracking.

Supabase

Database

Stores student profiles, saved opportunities, past results, and a shared library that can be reused for future searches.

Tavily and Featherless

Search and AI

Tavily finds real pages on the web. Featherless reads those pages and turns the information into clean data the rest of the system can use.

Eligibility

AI reads the requirements, but the final eligibility result is checked by code using the student's profile. This makes the result more consistent and helps explain why the student may or may not qualify.

Shared library

When Opportunity Finder finds an opportunity, it saves it for future searches. Other students can reuse that information instead of searching and reading the same page again.

Memory

Opportunity Finder remembers your profile, saved opportunities, application status, and what it has already shown you. That keeps future searches personal and avoids starting from zero every time.

Example

A search can start with one message.
